History Past Present and
Future |
|

Who makes history, the answer
to that question is ‘we all do’ it is in everything we do, say
or that happens to us, if we go to the supermarket and buy a
pint of milk or pick the kids up from school that is making
history, but from those two events we learn, if for example the
supermarket always runs out of milk an hour before the time that
we went to buy ours then the next time we want milk we will make
sure that we go an hour earlier, or if the kids are particularly
troublesome when they finish school then perhaps we will go a
little later and hope to miss them. |

So we can and do learn from
history even if it was only made the day before, and we then
shape the history of tomorrow because of what we have learned
today, so history does affect our future in more ways and more
often than any of us are ever really aware of. It would be
impossible to create a record of every event in every person’s
life that would cover even one day, so a massive amount of
useful knowledge is lost to humanity and as a result we find
that in the main only the most significant national or world
events are written down usually at the time or soon after,
history tells us a great deal about a person and a nation what
they have done and therefore what they may do in the future, so
you see history is past, present and future. |

This is basically a Scottish
website with international interest so first we must try to tell
our international members about ourselves and our history but we
must also try to include some items that will cover their own
countries, so if any member has such an item you think may be of
interest to us all then please send it to the
Webmaster and we will try to use it on the following
pages. |
